Course Summary
Murray Powell is well-known in the stormwater industry as an expert on management and maintenance of stormwater treatment devices. He has 30 years’ experience in the industry and literally wrote the NSW Government Guidelines for the Maintenance of Stormwater Treatment Measures 2022.
The theme for the day will be “Setting up for SUCCESS in WSUD” and include these topics:
- What even is Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) … and what’s not?
- Pollution removal targets – what do we need to get out of stormwater and how?
- Where to put WSUD, who should own it, and who should pay to maintain it?
- Examples of good and bad practice for each of the main WSUD solution types
- Maintenance requirements for WSUD solutions / how do you know its working?
- Handover, budgeting, training, monitoring, reporting, and auditing.
- Consultants, proprietors, contractors and cleaners – how to get the best from them.
- Interactive session out and about with real examples, discussion, problem solving.
The training will be split between a theoretical interactive workshop session in the morning, a lunch break, and an afternoon inspecting different WSUD treatments in the Clarence and Hobart area.
Cost : $400.00 - Keystone funding is 80% of fee. Eligible organisations and any training attendees MUST be registered with Keystone Tasmania to apply for funding. REGISTER NOW
