Before You Dig Australia Awareness & Education Sessions

Although Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) is now Before You Dig Australia (BYDA), there has been no change to how you use the service.

For over 30 years, the free BYDA (external link) referral service has allowed users to access vital plans and information about registered underground infrastructure assets, making ground works safer.

BYDA is now offering a free 1-Hour virtual awareness and education session, worth 2 CPD points (if eligible).

The session includes:

  • Why use the free BYDA Service?
  • Why does damage happen?
  • What causes damage?
  • What can you do?
  • How to lodge a free BYDA enquiry?
  • Australian Standard 5488 – Classification of Subsurface Utility Information
  • Certified Locators – Who are they & how do I find one?

This is offered as a presentation virtually via Microsoft Teams.

When booking your 1-Hour Online Awareness Session (external link), it is important to select ‘Michael Welsh’ from the staff selection on the form so that the correct person receives the request for training.

If you have any questions, please contact Michael on 0438 714 735 or email michael.welsh@byda.com.au
