The Property Agents and Land Transactions Regulations 2017 (the regulations) are subordinate law made under the Property Agents and Land Transactions Act 2016 (the Act). Tasmanian regulations are generally required to be remade every decade, and the current regulations will expire in March 2027.
Consumer, Building and Occupational Services is seeking input from stakeholders regarding the operation and effectiveness of the current regulations. We encourage you to provide comments on any aspects of the existing regulatory provisions, along with suggestions for improvements or amendments that may inform the remaking of the regulations in 2027.
We specifically seek your views on the following question:
- Is there anything in the Regulations that needs to be varied, added or removed?
This represents the initial phase of our review. As the process advances, we will undertake further consultation, including engagement about any draft documents or proposed changes.
